Where is Mr Ed Balls

It would seem the Secretary of State for Education has disappeared whilst understanding he needs a holiday with his children perhaps it would have appeased parents somewhat had he stayed around until all the SATs result were published and even apologised for the mess. We understand he thinks the SATs are not his department and he will just wait for any glory there may be ( no chance) but looking back it was May when we, parents and teachers, were telling him that the markers were disappearing not wanting any longer to be a part of the confusion and I quote Andy Latham, ETS Europe vice-president for NAA Projects, “Markers and schools can be assured we are giving all areas of concern our immediate attention to ensure a successful 2008 cycle.” Whilst Jim Knight is doing a sterling job trying to avert the discussion and telling us 90% of result mean they can publish tables I wounder how many parents and teachers agree.

Where indeed is Ed Balls, things are rather worrying and confusing this week I learn that a number of London schools are going to stop A levels. So when were parents consulted and what is going in their place and do employers agree and universities. Sorry for all the questions in this information giving world we are being left out

He hasn’t just become anonymous though has he. How visible has he been throughout his time as Education Minister? Jim Knight is obviously his fall guy.
